The Elmgreen School is an 11-18 specialist co-educational Humanities College serving the local community. It is unique in being the first parent promoted school in England. It opened in September 2007 to its first cohort of 180 students. It is now housed in a brand new building on Elmcourt Road with extensive modern facilities. In 2010 it will welcome its fourth intake of 180 students.
Our aim is to be a successful and inclusive school that works in close partnership with families and the community to achieve the best for our young people irrespective of gender, race or social background. We expect our students to achieve and fulfil their potential and receive a better education here than they would at any other establishment. We are working tirelessly to secure this aim for our community.
We provide an environment where every individual is highly valued and where they in turn care for others, the school and the community. This is ‘The Elmgreen Way’ which provides the direction for our happy, supportive and orderly environment where students, families, staff and governors are committed to the highest standards in everything that they do.
All students have the right to a high quality education that equips them with the qualifications they need to progress to college, university or their chosen career. We have created a flexible and personalised curriculum that enables all students to find an appropriate pathway tailored to their individual needs so that they can be successful during their time here and beyond.
