Click for Parent Governor statements
Thank you to those parents who have already been into school to vote for parent governors. A reminder that the ballot closes at 5pm on Monday 16 November. So if you have not yet voted there will still be an opportunity to do so either by coming into school or by sending in your completed ballot paper with your child. The ballot paper can be found at the back of the booklet containing the candidates’ statements.
The Governing Body of The Elmgreen School has seven parent governors who are currently elected every two years. Along with the foundation governors appointed by the Parent Promoters Foundation, parents form a majority on the governing body. This is a unique feature.
Our current parent governors were elected in 2007 and their term of office is coming to an end and we are calling for nominations for the seven positions. Existing parent governors are eligible to stand again, but any parent/carer with child currently at The Elmgreen School is eligible to offer his or her name as a candidate for election. This provides an opportunity for parent of student in Years 7 and 8 to put themselves forward this time.
The programme for this election will be as follows:

The period of the ballot falls during family conference meetings so there will be plenty of opportunities to vote. Given the current difficulties with the Royal Mail we are unable to offer a postal vote option.
The Clerk or the Chair of Governors is happy to discuss the commitment required of a governor with any prospective candidate.
