DESTINATION
Next Winter we will be taking a skiing course in the popular skiing region known as the Sportwelt Amadé in the heart of the Austrian Alps approximately an hour’s drive south-west of Salzburg. The spectacular mountain scenery, the range of ski slopes and the exciting après ski activities make it a favourite destination for British school groups. The region encompasses 11 ski villages nestling in the valleys, which are renowned for the traditional Austrian welcome extended to visitors.
ACCOMMODATION
We will be staying at the Hanneshof which is a traditional, family run youth gastof that has recently been extensively refurbished. The house offers a good standard off accommodation in which students’ rooms are generally 6 bedded. Three meals a day are provided, from evening meal on the day of arrival to evening meal before departure. The Hanneshof has the benefit of a TV/video, two games rooms with table tennis and large indoor tennis courts. The house is located 1500m from the village of Flachau and just 300m from the lifts and ski school meeting place.
THE SKIING
The huge Sportwelt Amadé region has a total of 270 ski lifts, which open up virtually limitless possibilities for every grade of skier from the first-time beginner to Olympic champion. The Sportwelt Amadé lift pass opens up over 860kms of pistes making it the largest ski area in the world! There are many gentle nursery slopes for beginners and a good progression to more challenging slopes for more able skiers.
SKI SCHOOL
Our 6-day ski course will include 4 hours per day instruction with English-speaking instructors from the official local Austrian Ski School. The Austrian Ski School is proud of its reputation as the world’s leading ski school. Lift passes and hire of equipment is included in our arrangements and everyone will receive an official ski school certificate at the end of the week.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENTS
Our evening programme may include a video evening, games evening, table tennis, disco party, ski school presentation and in-house parties. Ice-skating, ninepin bowling, swimming and a half-day excursion to Salzburg are also possible.
TRAVEL
We will be travelling by luxury coach with professional experienced drivers. The coach stays with us throughout our tour and is available for our use with the exception of the day of arrival and day of departure to conform to driving regulations.
INSURANCE
Comprehensive travel insurance, including that for medical emergency, is provided through Endsleigh Insurance Services. The cover includes:
