Come and join us for a celebratory PPF get-together over a drink and a mince pie on Wednesday 2nd December at 7pm at the school.
We will be holding a short business meeting, our fourth Annual General Meeting, followed by our first social gathering as the Parent Promoters’ Foundation in the wonderful new school building- a building which we have been privileged to play a part in creating.
The PPF (“Parent Promoters’ Foundation”) is the charitable foundation of The Elmgreen School. It was originally formed in 2003 by small group of local parents and carers to campaign for the school. The PPF has grown since then and now has over 660 members. All our members are local parents and carers who care about education and wish to support The Elmgreen School and learning generally. The PPF appoints the school’s 5 Foundation Governors.
The AGM is an ideal occasion to find out more about the PPF’s work and contribute your ideas for the year ahead. It is also an opportunity to stand for election as a PPF director. The PPF Directors meet once a term usually at 7.00 pm and work to support and promote the school. No experience is necessary. We particularly welcome interest from parents/carers of black or minority ethnic origin in order to help ensure that the directors are reflective of the local community. If you are interested in standing please call/e-mail for more information – the deadline for nominations is 5pm on Wednesday 25th November.
Even if you don’t want to stand as a director we do hope you’ll come along and join us. Everyone is very welcome. If you ‘re not yet a member of the PPF, there’s no charge to join and you can join very easily by contacting Kate Scrase, the Project Manager, details below or even sign up on the night.
