Family Conference will run at various dates during this academic year. All families will be invited to attend during one of the evenings. The first round of Family Conferences were a large success and if you were not invited then you will be seen at the December meetings on Wednesday 9 December or Thursday 10 December. You will receive information about your appointment time nearer the date.
The main aims of these conferences will be:
To provide the opportunity for self-reflection and planning for future academic success
To reinforce the importance of school and home working together to maximise academic success
To agree a plan of action designed to attain targets
The family conference evenings will provide an invaluable opportunity for you to meet with your child’s tutor or key worker and identify precise ways in which your child can build on their achievements to fulfil their potential. At The Elmgreen School we feel it is very important that you attend the target setting interview so that you can support both the school and your child in reaching their targets.
We will have 3 separate family conference evenings (first conferences will take place on the Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 November and Wednesday 9 December and Thursday 10 December) and you will be invited to attend via a letter which will have your interview time stated. Every parent or carer will be required to attend at least one family conference per year and students will need to attend the interview in full uniform. Attendance at the interview is compulsory for your child. The interview will last for 15 minutes, and in order to ensure the smooth running of of the event, we would appreciate your prompt arrival.
