Champion Readers

This week the library awarded certificates to some of our most prolific readers with two students from each college receiving a certificate and a book token to celebrate their achievement. The library is on the verge of passing the 10,000 mark for books issued to students since the beginning of the school year but a handful of students have really taken the reading challenge to heart. On average that is almost 20 titles per student read for pleasure, independent of the structured reading set in class.

Our heaviest library reader by far was a young man in Szabo College who amassed an impressive total of 153 titles. He was followed closely by two students in James College who have each borrowed more than 100 books each. These students were rewarded not only by the book token and certificate but also by the applause of their peers.

Personal reading remains a strong focus of our work in the library and these 8 students are excellent examples to their friends and classmates. Congratulations.
