Sixth Form Taster Lessons
On Thursday October 6 Year 11 attended three taster lessons of their choice to help them experience what Sixth Form will be like at the Elmgreen School and also to help them decide on their course choices for Sixth Form. Students also had the opportunity to fully experience the Sixth Form by following the smart dress code and staff and students alike commented on how mature and well dressed Year 11 looked and acted. The following are some quotes which sum up how successful the experience was:
“I realised what I might want to do and what I didn’t want to do” – Charlie
“Even better if the lessons had been longer” – Taylar
“Longer lessons or maybe 2 days or a week of tasters” – Corey
“We got a taste of how the lessons would be in Sixth Form and how different it is from year 11” – Ikran
“Even Better If we were given free food in the Sixth Form!” – Denzel
“What went well – the students’ attitudes, engagement, enthusiasm, focus and maturity in single lessons” – Mrs Coll – Subject Leader of Art who led sessions on A level Art & Design
“It encouraged students to think and prepare for the Sixth Form. Their attitude was very good” – Mr Ofosu – Science Subject Specialist who led sessions on A Level Physics and BTEC Applied Science
